David Allen Elected to Land Bank Leadership David Allen, Community Development Director, City of Jonesboro, was recently elected Secretary of the Clayton County Land Bank Board. The Clayton County Land Bank Authority is a statutory tool, under the 2014 Land Bank Act, for Clayton County, partnering with its cities to return tax delinquent dilapidated, and abandoned properties to productive use. The Clayton County Land Bank Authority processes applications from interested governmental agencies, businesses and individuals, and conveys the desired properties for public use, or to be reintroduced into the revenue-producing tax rolls. Approved: -Map Amendment to the Official Zoning Map for rezoning of 0.79 acres from Clayton County’s “General Business” to Jonesboro’s “Highway Commercial,” and to annex 0.79 acres into the corporate city limits of Jonesboro. -Conditional Use Permit for a proposed retail establishment selling distilled spirits by the package (liquor store) for property located on Hwy. 138. -Amendments to the Jonesboro Police Department Standard Operating Procedures, Chapter 28, Promotions. -City Zoning Map update and re-adoption. -Purchase of 150-95 Gallon garbage receptacles: $9,311.50 -Budget Amendments: City Garden & Police Recruitment.
