February 2012

early Beloved, FEBRUARY is here again and we are grateful to God to be able to participate again in this year's RCCG Worldwide corporate prayer and fasting period. The prayer points are a guide to enable you pray each day, you are free to supplement these prayer points as you seek the face of the Lord. We will supplement the prayer points and will send updates. Fasting accompanied with deep prayers is very profitable from both spiritual and physical perspectives. Physically, it is a good way to lose weight, cleanse the body of toxins and allow the bodily functions of eating and drinking to rest and refresh. The spiritual benefits are incredible: 1. It is one way of truly returning to the Lord if you find that you have become distant from the Lord: (Nehemiah 9.1-end, Psalm 69.10. 2. It is one sure way of seeking divine attention and Heaven's help to breakthrough great challenges and difficulties and victory in great battles. Check out how Queen Esther and the Jews turned to the Lord in prayer and fasting when Haman's plan to destroy the Jews was announced (see Esther 4.3, 15-17). 3. When terribly discouraged or disappointed or betrayed, it is much profitable to return to the Lord in prayer and fasting (See Psalm 35.13). 4. Means to facilitate deeper meditation and understanding of the Word of God (check out Jer 36.3). Please read and meditate on the Word this month. Let the Word be read long and with freshness and revelation this season. 5. When desirous to gain winning insight and revelation over particular issue or challenge as Daniel (Dan 9.3). 6. Jesus said that some issues can only be resolved through prayer and fasting: Mark 9.29. This season, that intractable problem shall be resolved IJN. 7. Heaven's attention for Cornelius came when he went into a personal fast: Acts 10.30. Someone reading this will gain heaven's special attention this season. 8. Commissioning and appointments for great assignments and projects have come from a season of fasting: Acts 13.14, 14.23. Someone's appointment and commissioning will come in this season! Fasting is scheduled each day between sunrise and sundown and you can break each day at 6pm or at whatever time convenient for you. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother or under medical supervision, you should not fast for obvious reasons. We shall do the fasting for you, however, you can always pray along with us and be in the Spirit. If you are fasting for the first time, please start by breaking early and then gradually extend till you can cover the whole days. You are encouraged to be in tune with God during this month, talk less, music less, facebook less, cut off all distractions, and be in moderation in all things. Check out Daniel 6.18 and see the example of the King Darius who imposed a fast on himself because he was concerned about Daniel's welfare and deliverance. Expect great testimonies and super abundance during this waiting period in Jesus name.

Richest Blessings, Pastor Mark Igiehon

Purpose Driven Life Definition of pur·pose - “The reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.” Dr Miles Munroe once said that the word “abuse” is just a short word for “abnormal use”. And when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. On the first of February, Jesus House parishes across Aberdeen began the great campaign journey that will last 40 days in pursuit of purposeful living. The participation has been phenomenon such that the two set of orders over 250 copies of the Purpose driven life book was sold out by the first day of the campaign. We are now Day 5 into the campaign and I daresay this is one of the most important journeys of our life time. Here are a few excerpts from the book: “Never confuse activity with productivity” “You can not arrive at your life’s purpose by starting with a focus on yourself” “Without God life has no purpose and without purpose life has no meaning. Without meaning life has no significance or hope” If you have not already part of the journey, you can still do so by visiting the website jesushouseaberdeen.org and click the purposeful life banner to register and join in the discussion. Please make this another short article on Purpose. What is Your purpose? A cross section of members where ask what their purpose in life was and below are their responses To give God pleasure in any way He desires. One of which I\'ve found to be teaching and building people to realize who they are in Christ and what great potentials they have in them. P.D To make heaven by God\'s grace and to influence as much people as possible along. J.O To leave an indelible mark in people's lives. L.I Honestly, I have a feeling that my purpose in life is to bring happiness to people. However, I am not certain and wiil love to be certain about my purpose in life. S.D. My purpose in life is to know God's plan and purpose for me at every point in time and to fulfil it. I.A To make heaven, take as many as possible along to heaven and make so much wealth to be a sponsor for God's kingdom on earth. P.O Daily strive to love the Lord my God with all my heart & to love my neighbour as myself. S.F.

PROJECT INCREASE

locals with an attendance of well over 60 persons and a full set of musical equipment was donated by the Jesus House Torry Parish.

Bus to St. Andrews from Aberdeen Commencement service Pastor Rufus Aizeboje Pastor Oluseye Kalejaiye Pastor Mark This month we decided to give ourselves to increasing Igiehon. the Kingdom of our God by planting four new parishes in various locations of Scotland. This endeavor was tasking in the every way, as it required great resources, human, spiritual and financial. The four parishes planted would require manpower, full sets of startup equipments, considerable travel for the commencement as well as over the next two years for the foundation team, also precommencement preparations to create widespread publicity within the localities where these parishes were planted. Like an army, the church divided into battalions and went to diverse areas of Scotland through the month of January. Thurso, Forth William, Huntly and St. Andrews.

RCCG CITY OF JOY, ST. ANDREWS

RCCG CITY OF JOY, FORTH WILLIAMS

St Andrews is about one and half to two hours away from Aberdeen, the home of St. Andrews University the third oldest university in Scotland and the University that graduated William and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. It is also the home of golf and a very multi-cultural city.

Fort Williams as the name sound is a fortress-like city, a mountainous land which in time past has been used as military training base and boot-camps. In Gaelic language, spoken by some Scots, Fort Williams means "defence". And so we know that there are spiritual implications in there, the gospel of our Lord The burden to start an RCCG parish in St. Andrews was will rise up as a defence out of this land and the name of the Lord laid upon us as far back as 2006/7. However, the resources, will be the people's Strong Tower. human and material did not come together until late 2010 where Again, late last year, Jesus House Inverness, one of our the burden was picked up by Pastor Rufus Aizebojie of Open parish plants was encouraged to take the step of faith and engage Heaven's Dundee. This was discussed at a Scotland Area 3 in her first full parish planting exercise with our support. While pastor's meeting in 2011, Open Heaven's Dundee volunteered to this desire was being expressed a call was made by a family do the ground work and provide the human resources by way of formerly in Inverness church but who had relocated to Fort supplying the Parish pastor, Jesus House Torry (one of our Williams to come and start a work there. Fort Williams is some daughter parishes) choose to fund the exercise, so a long nursed five hours by train away from Aberdeen and about 2 -3 hours burden suddenly found expression and then began the from Inverness. Travelling by train or bus can be strenuous. preparations for the work. The work commenced with various prayer visits to St. Andrews and start up of house Fellowship meetings late 2011 but the actual church planting did not hold until the weekend of 14th and 15th January 2012. On the 14th our "flying Squad" from Aberdeen went to St. Andrews to pray over the land in preparation for the inaugural service, As the people took prayer walks around the City they were met by an elderly a local gentleman, a professor James. He mentioned that his father was a priest and that he had long been praying for revival to visit St. Andrews again. Professor James was most joyful at finding this team of prayer warriors and immediately joined them in praying and he has since been a regular member of the new plant. What a welcome! At the city gates, the feet of them who brought the gospel of peace and joy to St. Andrews where joyfully praised. And no wonder! St. Andrews was the ecclesiastical headquarters of the church in Scotland in times Amazingly though as the team from Aberdeen journeyed to past. Fort Williams the weekend of the 21st 22nd January, they stopped The inaugural service on Sunday 15th January was very over in drumnadrochit to pick up a lady from Guyana and her son hugely attended by members from all parishes in the area and early Sunday morning to journey all the way to Fort Williams. What willingness and zeal! No wonder the bible says that in the

days of thy power thy people shall be willing. The parish was successfully inaugurated on the 22nd of January by Pastor Adeniyi Adebayo and will be pastured in the interim by Pastor Watson Aniyeloye working with a team of people from Aberdeen and Inverness Parishes. Again a full set of musical equipment were made available to the parish upon commencement.

JOYFUL ASSEMBLY (THURSO)

praying for a bible believing church to come to Huntly. Wow! What a Macedonian call indeed prepared in the hearts of these people in different cities. Margaret and her friend Sandra immediately became regular committed members of Elgin City Tabernacle while regular prayers commenced in Huntly preparing the ground.

While a team went to Huntly on Saturday 28th another team travelled by 5am same day to Thurso by Coach for an outdoor outreach. The ground was prepared by pastor Dapo, Brother Richard and his team.

Thurso is the last town in Mainland UK. It is farthest North of Scotland. It is our desire to use Thurso as a launching pad through which we will reachout to the islands of Orkney, Faroes and all surrounding islands.

In 2009, an outreach led by the pastor of Jesus House Inverness largely supported by the church in Aberdeen led a huge team to Wick, a journey of 5 hours by bus and 7 by train. The HUNTLY TABERNACLE OF GRACE outreach in itself was a huge miracle as the locals took it over In 2010, upon relocation of the parish pastor of Elgin City providing a set of stage and musical equipment. The work there Tabernacle, one of our church plants, Deacon Daniel Arojojoye however did not start until 2010 and then at a slow pace because was appointed as the parish pastor of the parish and every of the distance. weekend he journeyed travelled to Elgin with a team of people The Lord helped us and on the 1st of October 2011, a to hold services there. Incidentally, he always wondered if there missionary from Nigeria came over to Aberdeen. Pastor Dapo was any bible believing church in Huntly, exactly halfway Olowodaran upon arrival travelled on an exploratory trip to Wick between Aberdeen and Elgin. and toured the entire highlands with Bro Richard Oman from His question was answered when one of his members, a Inverness. At the end of the trip, pastor Dapo decided to start a Scottish lady invited her friends (Margaret and Sandra) from work in Thurso alongside the Wick parish which is about 20 Huntly to Elgin for a special programme and as he informed minutes' drive apart and is the last town in Mainland UK. We them of the question burning in his mind, they on their own intend to use this area as the bridgehead or base to reach out to informed him that it has been many years since they have been the entire highland region.

There is so much spiritual depth to the work in Huntly, and more so when the Lord used the indigenes of the community already given to prayers for the land to draw us into their city. Also though unplanned the inaugural service booked a hotel was moved to the first ever community hall in Huntly which happens to be situate at Church street and which also is a place where the elders of the land meet to discuss.

Interestingly, despite the weather forecast, we had a good day and the people were openly welcoming to the word and the music brought on the day. Most spectacular though was the support from other Christian groups within the city. Rev. John Mcphee, a Church of Scotland minister took us to see the plaque of ruins of a church planted in 1220 and closed in the 19th Century. It is remarkable to note that in 2012 we are again sent to come open a parish in the area.

The outreach was excellent and the Lord hugely blessed On Saturday 28th January, a 33 - seater coach took His work, granting the church a safe trip back to Aberdeen. members from Aberdeen down to Huntly but the numbers who TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!! came down on their own were even much greater and for the first time ever, we closed the road to hold a musical and evangelical outreach proclaiming the Lord Jesus Christ and announcing the commencement of the new parish the next day. The outreach was glorious and the people were hugely welcoming. Interestingly right there on the streets in the course of the outreach, a Scottish family approached us and invited us to come to Forres with this lovely gospel. They gave their contact details and all so they can be contacted in when we are ready for Forres, what an open door! This is highly unusual from locals in these parts. On Sunday 29th January, the commencement service for Huntly Tabernacle of Grace was held at the Pensioners Hall, Church Street Huntly, again with a very large attendance from across the area. The parish will be pastured by bro Segun Ajibose. A full set of musical equipment was purchased for the new parish and great many gifts were receieved from members and locals to aid in the church.

JOKES.... Married couples questioned St. Peter is questioning three married couples to see if they qualify for admittance to heaven.

Sympathetic Visitor A big, burly man visited the pastor's home and asked to see the minister's wife, a woman well known for her charitable impulses. "Madam," he said in a broken voice, "I wish to draw your attention to the terrible plight of a poor family in this district. The father is dead, the mother is too ill to work, and the nine children are starving. They are about to be turned into the cold, empty streets unless someone pays their rent, which amounts to $400."

"Why do you deserve to pass the Pearly Gates?" he asks one of the men, who had been a butler. "I was a good father," he answers. "Yes, but you were a drunk all your life. In fact, you were so bad you even married a woman named Sherry. No admittance." St. Peter then turned to the next man, a carpenter, and asked him the same question. The carpenter replied that he had worked hard and taken good care of his family.

"How terrible!" exclaimed the preacher's wife.

But St. Peter also rejected him, pointing out that he had been an

impossible glutton, so much so that he married a woman named BonBon.

The sympathetic visitor applied his handkerchief to his eyes. "I'm the landlord," he sobbed.

At this point the third man, who had been a lawyer, stood up and said, "Come on, Penny, let's get out of here."
