INSIDER TIP Mundy Park bike skills

TEST YOUR SKILLS Get off-road and test your abilities on some bike skills trails. You’ll find beginner and intermediate-level circuits at Mundy Park, at the corner of Mariner Way and Chilko Boulevard, including obstacles such as a timber teeter-totter, log stacks and bridges. After honing your skills, set off and explore the park trails. One circuit located at Leigh Park (1254 Soball St.) is great for younger riders, with bridges and obstacles to test their skills. coquitlam.ca/parkfinder

GETTING AROUND If you plan on getting around by bike, you’ll want to pick up your free copy of the Tri-Cities Cycling Map—available at City facilities including City Hall and the public libraries, or online at coquitlam.ca/cycling.

This map will be your go-to resource for navigating the local road cycling routes as well as locating bicycle lockers and bike maintenance stations; it also has tips on road safety. Thanks to SkyTrain, you can enjoy a relaxing view while traveling from downtown Vancouver to Coquitlam’s forested trails. Pick your destination and load up your bike (see page 46).
