English and Maths matter English and Maths are two of the most important skills and qualifications you can have. They’re essential for further study and progression into employment, and provide you with knowledge to use in daily life. Every course offered at City of Bristol College includes an aspect of English and Maths development. Our ultimate aim is for all students to gain their Level 2 qualifications while studying with us. An English and Maths qualification will support you to: pass the course you’re studying progress onto further study, an apprenticeship or university achieve opportunities for promotion and higher pay in employment

How it works: If you already have a GCSE Grade 2 or 3 in English and Maths, you will be supported to achieve a GCSE grade of 4 or above If you’ve already achieved a Functional Skills qualification, you will progress to the next level up to Level 1 If you don’t have any qualifications, you will be individually assessed and placed at the best level for you to succeed
