senior center The Mary Ann Young Senior Center is located by Aquatore Park just off Highway 65 and Cloverleaf Parkway. As a focal point for seniors, the center’s staff and volunteers offer a dynamic variety of programs and social events throughout the year. The Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. The Senior Dining Program offers noon meals at a suggested donation of $4 for people age 60 and over, and a cost of $7 for those under age 60. Please call three days in advance to register for the noon meal. Van service is available for residents of Blaine to transport participants to and from the senior center for a cost of just $1.50 round trip. Stop by and visit the Center during scheduled hours, or call 763-786-9375 for further information. Canvas Oil Painting Class Wednesday, September 12

8:30-11:30 am

The oil painting sample is currently on display at the Senior Center. Bob Ross certified instructor, Kittie Swanson, will lead this class. Advanced registration required. Cost is $55 and includes all supplies and instruction.

Flu Shot Clinic

Monday, September 24

9-11:30 am

Open to the community, this flu shot clinic will be sponsored by Walgreens. It will be held at the Senior Center. Advanced sign-up is requested. There is no charge if you present your Medicare Part B or Medical Assistance Card. Other insurance cards may be accepted-call to verify which, otherwise, the cost for the flu shot is about $29.99. Please call 763-7869375 to register. Walk-ins welcome.

Harvest Dinner

Mondays: Bingo, Garden Club (2nd Mon) Health Insurance Counseling, Quilting Group (first and last Mon/mth)

This popular evening dinner will likely sell out quickly. The tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 15 at 8:15 am. Menu is a beef pot roast dinner, with all the trimmings, served family style to your table. Price is $8 per person. There is a 12 ticket purchase per person limit. Entertainment by the Four Plus One Band will be enjoyed throughout the meal.

Jewelry of all types, shapes, colors, designs will be available at very reasonable prices. Proceeds go to the Senior Center for entertainment and activity expenses. Jewelry donations are being accepted now until two weeks prior to the sale. This is open to the public and all ages are encouraged to check out the great deals! Come one, come all!
