Amazing Athletes ages 3 to 6
Amazing Athletes programs are specifically designed to enhance your child’s learning experience through movement. Your child will learn the basic fundamentals and mechanics of 9 different sports while also building self – confidence, practicing teamwork, and improving their fine and gross – motor skills. Each class focuses on 2 different sports and incorporates activities proven to increase your child’s overall cardiovascular fitness, muscle tone, hand – eye coordination, reaction time and more! Each class is six weeks long and runs for 45 minutes. Class held at Sunnyside Park Building. Max 10 per class.

Tae Kwon Do ages 5 to Adult
Tae Kwon Do is a modern martial art based on Korean tradition that incorporates techniques of kicking, punching and blocking. Learn self-defense and controlled movements through sparring. This is a great class to develop discipline, strength, stamina and flexibility. Join at any time – fee will be prorated. Please wear comfortable clothing. Testing and uniforms are available for an extra fee through the instructor. Max. 20 per class. Program held at Westwood Middle School Gym Balcony. Instructor: Mr. Bill Frauly, 3rd DAN black belt.
Intro to Guitar: ages 6 to 10 So GUITAR HERO and GARAGE BAND are exciting games for your child and are you wondering if your child is really serious about playing guitar? Well bring them to this class and let’s see if they can learn the real guitar! They will develop the vocabulary and skills for the guitar and be able to play one and two chord songs; learn five different chords. Students may repeat class until skills are acquired. Then they can advance to the BEGINNING GUITAR level. This is a fun learning experience!! Max. 10. Program held at Blaine City Hall Cloverleaf Room A. Registration deadline is Jan. 17. Beginning Guitar: ages 10 & up Dust off that guitar! Our lessons focus on having fun, learning and building skills. Guitar from the bottom up; guitar fundamentals, maintenance, seven to nine chords; three to five chord songs. Students may repeat class until skills are acquired. Must have your own guitar (bring amplifier for electrics). Max. 10. Program held at Blaine City Hall Cloverleaf Room A. Registration deadline is Jan. 17.

Group Guitar Lessons
ages 8 to 12 & 13 to adult

ages 4 and up Get active and have fun in this class. Students will learn popular junior high and high school cheers, chants, choreographed pom/dance routines, parade marching techniques and other performance skills. This program promotes physical fitness, self-esteem, teamwork and learning from an adult role model. At the end, students will perform a group recital for families and friends. Students will also receive a certificate and medal. Registrations are accepted by the instructor at the Open House on Wednesday, February 5 or at any class throughout the session. Registrations will not be accepted at the Park and Rec office. Class held at the Schwan’s Super Rink Dance Studio.
