When Angela Blain opened Advance Law in 2013, her aim was to provide more affordable and accessible legal services in a relaxed environment. It didn’t take her long to achieve that goal. “We’re not overly formal and very approachable,” said Angela, who has received a large number of referrals from her clients since she opened her firm. “People are looking for friendly, personalised service and competitive pricing, which is something we pride ourselves on providing.”

After completing a Bachelor of Arts and Law degree at James Cook University, where she was recognised with the prestigious Sir George Kneipp award for excellence, she was admitted as a solicitor in 2006. The born-and-bred North Queenslander was a partner in another local law firm for more than three years before opening her boutique family-run practice. Advance Law offers a “fresh and modern approach” to legal services and has expertise in conveyancing, wills and estates, family law, litigation and debt recovery as well as traffic matters and licence applications. Angela’s daughter Alicia, who has six years experience in the legal industry, works alongside her as a paralegal, conveyancing expert and receptionist.
care of her family, Angela is openly passionate about justice and attaining the best possible outcome for her clients throughout the region. Continually looking for ways to improve herself in order to offer the best service possible, Angela has also recently completed her Master of Laws in applied law through the College of Law in Sydney and continues to keep up to date with legal matters. She is also on the Queensland Cancer Council panel and does pro bono work for people who are diagnosed as terminal and who meet the means test criteria. “There is a lot of satisfaction in being able to help someone,” she said. “It’s an honour to be able to help people through all experiences, even difficult ones.”
