8. THE CHOCOLATE BALL Vaughan’s fourth annual Chocolate Ball took place on May 10, 2013, at Le Jardin Conference & Event Centre. This year’s theme was “Choc ‘n’ Roll,â€? and the event ďŹ ttingly sported roller-skating hostesses, live performances by the Retro Rockers and two high-energy dance shows by the Dance Company. Hosted by Global Toronto’s Antony Robart, the night was a scrumptious success as guests perused chocolate stations and savoured a four-course, chocolate-infused meal. www.thechocolateball.com

LADIES’ MARTINI NIGHT The Meta Foundation recently hosted Ladies’ Martini Night in honour of the Meta Centre, a non-proďŹ t organization devoted to supporting children and adults with disabilities in Toronto and York Region. Taking place at Brampton’s Embassy Grand Convention Centre, the event successfully raised awareness for the cause, bringing in an excited group of guests to learn about the needs of the disabled in their community.
