These past few months have been very difficult for me and my family. My father, Paul Alfisi, passed away on 2/18/16. I would like to express my thanks to VNA Hospice. They took wonderful care of my dad, but also of our whole family. He had kind loving, doctors, nurses, and volunteers. When he could no longer stay in our home, he went to the VNA Hospice House. He passed with three generations of his family around him. We will miss him very much. Thank You VNA hospice for helping us in our time of need. The VNA is always looking for volunteers. This would be a wonderful place to donate your time. On a brighter note, we continue to receive many compliments on our new design, as of last quarters issue, thanks to the talent and experience of our new

Art Director, David Moshier. You may notice the issue you hold in your hands has more pages as well, as we continue to have more local businesses wanting to advertise with us. Our advertisers continually say that they get a lot of business from the ads we run for them! City Guide offers the biggest “bang for the buck of any publication in Indian River County, printing 12,000 issues, delivered by the post office to local homes and businesses. Starting with our next issue in July, we will also make City Guide available for pickup at key locations in Vero Beach and Sebastian. If you are interested in advertising in City Guide, please call me for more information. Enjoy the issue!

Camp Haven Expansion Project to Help More Area Homeless achieve a Life of Self-Sufficiency

“All Men were once Boys with big hearts & big dreams. Let’s restore the hope that got lost along the way.” - Camp Haven

M

ore than 85% of the homeless men who have participated in Camp Haven’s transitional shelter-program have successfully graduated with a steady job, a place of their own and a new purpose driven outlook on life. To build upon this success, the non-profit organization is seeking community support to expand its shelter capacity with 8 additional efficiencies. This will allow them to accept more homeless participants into its shelter-program that provides basic needs, job skills training, counseling and more. $200,000 is needed to bring the expansion project to fruition. “We are asking churches, individuals and businesses to support us in this capital campaign effort, as it is vital to the transformational process of

the homeless men we are helping, and our community will be positively impacted as a result,” said Executive Director, Lalita Janke.
