Jaguariúna Rodeo Festival

Every year, the Jaguariúna rodeo welcomes big names in music and a large, excited audience to enjoy one of the biggest rodeos in Brazil.

This year’s Jaguariúna Rodeo Festival had larger boxes and a giant LED panel. In addition to a complete infrastructure, which ensured the public’s enjoyment and greater security with the use of approximately 60 cameras throughout the event.

The Jaguariúna rodeo is already known for mixing different musical styles. Among the attractions this year were names such as: Henrique and Juliano, Gustavo Lima, Alok and Wesley Safadão; between others.

Fazenda da Barra

Fazenda da Barra, which is an important asset of the city, was completely revitalized. Centro Cultural “Prefº. Ulysses da Rocha Cavalcanti”

The former Jaguariúna railway station, listed by the Council for the Defense of Historical, Archaeological, Artistic and Tourist Heritage (Condephaat), is already an attraction in itself due to its architectural beauty. The current building, which dates back to 1945, has neocolonial characteristics and since the 90’s has operated as Centro Cultural “Prefº. Ulysses da Rocha Cavalcanti”. The place is a stopping point for Maria Fumaça and also houses the Railway Museum. In addition to having an exhibition hall and a tourist information room.

Maria Fumaça Steam Train

The Maria Fumaça Steam Train tour, from Campinas to Jaguariúna, is an immersion into the past. The historic cultural tour uses the old railway section of Cia Mogiana de Estradas de Ferro.

When traveling through bucolic landscapes of the old coffee farms in the region, passengers learn a little more about the history, with the presentation of monitors about the places where the train passes. Railway Museum

The Deusdolar Ferreira Gomes Railway Museum is made up of old objects that tell the history of the late Companhia Mogiana de Estradas de Ferro. There you can see typewriters and telephones from the time, as well as old railway signs and other items used by the CIA in the past.

Pedro Abrucêz Bridge

Casa da Memória Padre Gomes

Cultural Movements

Jaguariúna is full of cultural attractions for all ages, offering different shows and also providing education, through the School of Arts, created in 2010 and which has more than 3,000 students, including adults and children from 4 years old, teaching courses such as Theater, Ballet, Artistic Makeup, Children’s Musicalization, Digital Arts, Crafts, Photography and various musical instruments.

One of the spaces where the culture of Jaguariúna is exposed is the Teatro Municipal Dona Zenaide, in downtown. A multipurpose space that receives several artists, national and international, as well as presentations by students of the School of Arts. The building was, for years, the cinema of the city and opened in 2008, after a major renovation.

Orquestra Municipal Violeiros do Jaguary is a traditional group from the city, founded in 2005 and under the command of Maestro Carlos Dias Bicalho, it disseminates the traditions of the people of the region through root music, dances, religious festivals and the history of viola caipira.

Another traditional movement in Jaguariúna is Cavalaria Antoniana, which turns 50 in 2023. It is a movement of religiosity, devotion and cultural preservation, taking place on the second Sunday of June, where knights and Amazons honor Saint Anthony and cultivate the tradition.
