Excellence in public education

Jaguariúna has a quality public education. The excellent rates achieved in the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB) over the last few years are proof of this.

Investments in the educational sector are constant. Last year, the city government invested R$ 116.7 million in the sector; equivalent to 27.84% of its tax collection.

Another determining factor for the quality of municipal public education is the constant investment in training professionals in the area. In addition to improvements in the infrastructure of schools, thus providing a good experience in the school life of students.

Constant updating of teachers

Care for the quality of public education in Jaguariúna does not stop. And neither do investments in the sector. Therefore, the network’s teachers frequently undergo professional updating courses.

One of the initiatives adopted by the City Hall for this purpose is the Education Week. This year, it held lectures that addressed varied and important topics to be developed in the classroom. Such as: “Cognitive Skills and Learning”, “Learning Difficulties”, “Inclusion from Early Childhood Education to Elementary School I and II” and “Literacy, Psychopedagogy, Child Development and Inclusion”; among others.

The event lasted 16 hours of much learning and exchange of experiences, with more than 300 participating teachers.

Creative schools

The Creative Schools Program aims to use more creative, innovative and inclusive practices in the education of children aged 6 to 12 years. With a focus on public education, the program is an initiative of the Brazilian Creative Learning Network, with the support of the Lemann Foundation and the LEGO Foundation.

new Early Childhood Education Centers (CEis)

The city of Jaguariúna has sixteen Early Childhoof Education Centers (CEIs) to serve the population. One of the units that was inaugurated recently was the CEI Profª Deize Mabel Haite de Oliveira, in the Capotuna region.

The new unit has the capacity to receive 108 children from 0 to 3 years of age, full time. Soon, the current administration will deliver another unit to the population. Now in the Ipê neighborhood.
