Elderly-Friendly City
WHO certifies municipalities that adapt structurally and offer adequate services to the elderly population. Through a guide that must be followed, the city needs to comply with three pillars: Health, Safety and Participation. In addition to criteria to be respected regarding open spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, social participation, respect and inclusion; as well as civic participation and employment, communication and information, community support and health services.

The actions developed by the city hall of Jaguariúna, in favor of the quality of life and well-being of the elderly, placed it on the list of a select global network. There are around 520 Age-Friendly Cities, distributed in 37 countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

New building of the Center for Medical Specialties
The new building of the Center for Medical Specialties has 2,075 m² located on Campus I of UniFAJ. It has twice as many rooms as the old downtown building and has 25 rooms for service, reception, administrative and support rooms.
The move to the new address took place through a partnership between the Jaguariúna Health Secretariat, the UniEduk Group and the Santa Maria de Saúde Association (Asamas). The city’s Obesity Program is also attended to on site.

Paes Leme Award for Hospital Walter Ferrari
Walter Ferrari Municipal Hospital received the Paes Leme Award, for its honorable dedication to combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
The award is granted by the Society of Medicine and Surgery of Campinas (SMCC). Created in the year 2000, it honors institutions, companies, personalities or programs that stand out in contributing to the wellbeing of the population.
Zeroing the queue for MRI scans
With the new MRI machine, installed at the Walter Ferrari Municipal Hospital, the city hall of Jaguariúna was able to eliminate the waiting list for exams.
With this further achievement for the municipality, the population can now receive early diagnoses and, thus, start any treatments that may be necessary, for the promotion of health.
Children Emergency Care (PAI)

Recently, Jaguariúna inaugurated the Children’s Emergency Care, on the premises of the Emergency Care of Hospital Municipal Walter Ferrari.
Intended for 24-hour care for children and adolescents up to 13 years of age, the new service space will have three offices, an emergency, medication, inhalation and observation room.
Extended opening hours
The city of Jaguariúna was included in the Saúde na Hora (SnH) Program of the Ministry of Health. Now, it will have federal resources for use in the night care of the UBSs.
The Basic Health Units that have extended opening hours in the city are: Florianópolis, 12 de Setembro and Cruzeiro do Sul, open until 8 pm, and UBS Roseira de Baixo, open until 7 pm.
