Concerts on the Bay date back to 1967. The ANAF Veteran’s Association, along with a few keen citizens, had a vision to create a venue for enhancing the summer experience with the sound of music. They joined together and with the support of several local businesses a band shell was constructed. Needless to say, this gave way to an annual tradition, free summer concerts featuring, in most part, local entertainers who also benefited by having the experience of performing in front of live audiences. After 43 years, the band shell was replaced in 2011 with the beautiful Lions Pavillion. concertsonthebay.ca Sundays - June & July - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - August - 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. June 12 The Reasons, 50’s/60’s/70’s Rock June 19 Cruisin 50’s/60’s Band June 26 Ambush, Rocking Country July 3 Bay City Band, Variety Dance Band July 17 The Commodores Orchestra, Big Band Memories July 24 Andy Forgie & Ed’s Garage, 50’s/60’s/70’s Rock July 31 White Brothers, Country Aug. 7 Cathy Whalen & Land O’Lake Cruisers, Country Aug. 14 Ken Stapley/Lions Country Jamboree, Country Classic (5 - 8 p.m.) Aug. 21 Ken Kovac & Heartland, Country Classic Aug. 28 Frank Howard Orchestra Directed by Lance Jeffrey, Big Band Memories Wednesdays - June & July - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - August - 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. June 15 The Shadows, 50’s/60’s Rock & Roll June 22 The Young Family Band, Country June 29 Big Black Smoke, 60’s/70’s Classic Rock July 13 Matt Cage & Derek Morris, Tribute to Elvis & Johnny Cash July 20 Texas Tuxedo, Rocking Country July 27 Kinfolk, 50’s/60’s Rock/Country Aug. 3 Ken Stapley & Friends, Classic Variety Aug. 10 The Reasons, 50’s/60’s/70’s Rock Aug. 17 Lynzi Couch & Wrought Iron Roots, Blue Grass/Country/Folk Aug. 24 Grampa’s Goodtime Gang, Yesteryear Favourites Aug. 31 The Emily Creek Band, Country/Folk/Dance - 27 -
