“In my art, I try to represent objects of beauty that each carry their own story, whether the painting is figurative, still life, or landscape. This is accomplished using classical painting techniques with contemporary themes. Color theory of the impressionists and compositions reminiscent of the modernists are incorporated into my work to further enhance the drama generated by the underlying strong value pattern I use.”

“I find relevance in thinking about humanity’s ongoing, strenuous relationship with the natural world. In most cases, one can trace contemporary problems to issues of the past. Either way, I like to study the past in order to create a better future. The subject matter in my drawings and painting changes a bit. However, I have developed a style of rendering reality that captures this idea of the geologic circus. An upheaval of the known and celebration of that which is unknown. I am inspired by concepts such as erosion, love and layering. I play with photoshopped imagery, building layers of meaning and source material from my life. It’s all a jumbled mess. But I love it.”
