“My works are neither description of the object nor an idea, but my emotions such as joy or sorrow that are expressed daily. Renowned artist Sotaro Takanami, hailing from Tokyo and boasting a career spanning several decades, has made a significant impact on the art world with his exceptional talent. Back in 1986, Takanami astounded audiences by simultaneously releasing his print book titled “Nature” in both Tokyo and Paris, as part of the esteemed Française Collection. This remarkable publication showcased his artistic vision and undeniable talent to a global audience.

In 2002, Takanami solidified his position in the international art scene with a highly successful solo exhibition at the renowned Yoshii Gallery in Paris. Looking ahead, Takanami is poised to achieve yet another significant milestone in his career. In 2024, he is scheduled to hold a two-month solo exhibition at the esteemed Takashimaya Archives Museum.
