About the Event 緣起 Cinemasports International challenges filmmakers around the world to make a short movie using the same required “ingredients”.

Final movies must be less than 3 minutes and include required 3 ingredients announced at the start of the shooting day. Submitted movies will be considered for a gala screening at Blueprint Culture & Creative Park in Tainan, Taiwan. Three Ingredients: Shadow Smile keyboard The 6th Cinemasports Universities, we have 74 films from 9 countries submitted to the event.

國際拍片運動挑戰來自世界各地的影片創作愛 好者即興創作，製作一部短片包含同樣的“三 項元素”。 最後的影片必須短於三分鐘，並且包含拍片當 日所宣布的三項元素。完成挑戰的作品部份將 入選於臺灣台南藍晒圖創意園區中播出。 三項元素為： 影子 微笑 鍵盤 第六屆國際拍片運動，共有超過七十四部的影 片，來自於九個國家完成挑戰送件。

Preface

前言

2019 The 6th Cinemasports Universities

第六屆國際拍片運動總共有近九十組團隊報名，最後完成 74部影片，在參與單位過多年的默契，這次幾乎大部分的 國家都在2019年10月26日舉辦拍片，大家在不同時區與國 家同一天一起拍片，並在臉書即時分享過程照片，我認為 實在非常不可思議的事，這是個值得紀念的里程碑。最後 在台南市中心的藍晒圖文創園區戶外廣場，舉辦頒獎典禮 與播映會，總共播映30部影片，晚會也是非常完美。從開 跑日到播映會整整一週，要感謝許多人的協助，活動成功 要歸功於所有的參與者，特別感謝辛苦的八位評審，還有 每一位來自九個國家的團隊，希望我們明年再見。

The 6th Cinemasports International a total of nearly 90 teams signed up, and 74 films were finally submitted. After many years of collaboration, this year almost all countries held filming on the same day on October 26, 2019. it is amazing that we had accomplish it together. This is a memorable milestone for the event. Finally, in the outdoor plaza of the Blueprint Cultural and Creative Park in the center of Tainan, an award ceremony and a gala screening were successful. A total of 30 films were screened. I would like to thank many people for their assistance. The succes of the event is attributed to all the participants.

Special thanks to the hard work of the eight judges and all the teams from nine countries. I wish we will see each other again in the next edition.

今年很榮幸受邀參與「第六屆國際拍片運動」的評審工作， 這是一個精彩有趣的非典型拍片活動。拍片對一般導演而 言，是一個創意孵化和不斷調整的修修改改之耗時工作，但 國際拍片運動提供的刺激與有趣的型態:在十個小時內完成 符合命題的創意內容。我認為這不只讓創意者在有限的時間 下完成無限的創意表現，也改寫了在發揮創意之間，耗時且 經常無法下決心的未明計畫，使創作者找到一種新的可能性 與重新解套複雜的拍片方式。如果只有十小時，你會如何孵 化與實踐你的創作呢？這就是國際拍片運動要提出的關鍵思 考。從這一刻開始，就讓我們開始行動吧!

I am honored to be invited as a jury member of the 6th Cinemasports International. This is a wonderful and unique event. For most of directors, filming is a time-consuming task of incubating crwative ideas and constant adjustment, but the exciting and interesting model that provided by the Cinemasport International: to make a film that meets the criteria within ten hours. I think this not only inspire a great creative but also changed idea of film making is always time-consuming and often leads to an unsettled result. It provides a exciting and fun solution to make a film, allowing directors to find a new possibility and rethink the complicated filming method. If there are only ten hours, how would you plan and excute your film? This is the key point to be put forward by the cinemasports international. Without further ado, let us start making a film!

本人總共參與了將近三次的國際拍片運動，每次的參與都是 秉持著專業、輕鬆且愉悅的心情看待學生們的結晶，最重 要的是可以從影片中看見各國的風情、故事以及學生的激情 與創意，在這十小時緊湊的時間，同學們將所學集大成，辛 苦地製作出一部影片，無論結果如何，至少想過；走過；演 過；剪過這些種種歷程是影片人最最重要的能力磨練及體 現，主辦單位及評審們很感動能夠短時間看那麼多部傑出的 作品，有歡笑、有驚悚、有感觸及回憶。最後，特別感謝美 國Jin Woo Joo創辦人及國內外大專院校相關科系的大力推 動，促使這國際拍片運動平台的建立，讓同學們可以自由發 揮創意想像力。先預祝明年2020年第七屆國際拍片運動能 夠再次地順利、圓滿成功!

So far I had participated three editions of Cinemasports. Every time I participated with sincere and yet enjoyable attitude toward the films made by my students. The most important thing in the event I think is that we are learning from this cross culture experience, and students are enjoyed their creation process. In the compact time of ten hours, the students have collected what they have learned and worked hard to produce a film. No matter what the result is, at least they have thought and worked through the whole processes of film making. It is precious experience for filmmakers. I am thankful to the founder Mr. Jin Woo Joo and collaborators from many universities to push forward this event.

Our Lone Buffalo students have a special reason to participate in Cinemasports events – it was CS founder Jin Joo who first introduced them to a camera! Jin and Helen (Kids to Kids UK) traveled to Phonsavan, Laos in 2012 and helped the students to make their first movie – The Xieng Khouang Experience. This began a culture of film making at our English Development Centre. In 2016 Cinemasports International coordinator Hui-Ching and the Korean animator Shon Kim also travelled to Laos and worked with students on their first animation – The Danger of Bombs.

Since 2012, thanks to Cinemasports, our students have been making films and passing their skills onto younger students through their workshops. Cinemasports gives young film makers the opportunity to practice all the skills they have learned – against the clock! It's a great way to bring new dynamics into film making like time management and emphasise the skills of planning and quick thinking. The 3-minute maximum length is also a great way to get students making shorter films, and focus on the importance of editing.

There is always a buzz of excitement around our centre on the morning of an event as students wait patiently for the

ingredients to be revealed and then the teams get to work on brainstorming, scriptwriting and storyboarding. By the end of the day there is a real feeling of achievement as they watch the final edit being uploaded to the Cinemasports website.

The events themselves are also a great way to bring the world of youth filmmakers together. To know that a short film made in a remote part of Laos is being shown on a big screen in Taiwan and other young people are enjoying, laughing and discussing our movies is very special.

We are all grateful to Cinemasports for opening our eyes to the opportunities that film making gives us not just to entertain but also to pass on important social messages through short movies. I hope one day some of our young film makers will get the chance to travel to Cinemasports event to watch a Lone Buffalo movie being shown on the big screen. 我們Lone Buffalo學生有很特殊的理由要參加國際拍 片運動Cinemasports活動，因為創辦人Jin Joo是第 一位將電影介紹給我們的人，Jin和Helen Ward曾經

2012造訪寮國豐沙灣，帶領學生製作了他們的第一 部影片－“川壙的經歷”，這開始這個英語教育機構 的影片創作文化，在2016年拍片運動的協辦人曾惠 青和韓國動畫家Shon Kim也到我們機構，與學生製 作他們的第一部動畫－“危險的炸彈“。 自從2012年起，感謝拍片運動的我們的學生持續有 在創作影片，並且將經驗傳給更年輕的學生，給他們 一個很好的練習機會，且要分秒必爭！是個很好的動 力讓團隊學習控制時間，和強調規劃技巧與快速思維 的反應能力。最長三分鐘的影片也是個好的方式，讓 學生可以製作專注在故事重點的短片。 每次拍片日的早晨學生們都滿懷期待地聚集在我們中 心，等待著三元素的公佈，然後跟團隊成員腦力激 盪、寫劇本和製作腳本，然後在當天結束時，心裡充 滿成就感上傳影片到拍片運動網站 。 這個活動是很好的方式讓世界各地的年輕電影創作 者有機會聚在一起，並看到在寮國一個偏遠地區所製 作的短片在台灣的大螢幕播映，然後其他年輕人也可 以享受、歡笑和討論我們的影片實在非常難得。 我們都非常感謝拍片運動給我們打開眼界的機會去認 識到，電影給我們的不是只有娛樂而已，同時透過短 片也傳達了重要的社會訊息。我希望將來有一天我們 的年輕電影作者有機會能出席播映會，在大螢幕上看 到我們的電影。 --Mark Steadman 8

This year, for the first time, I was delighted to participate in this filmmaking program with my students. A great opportunity to work together for young filmmakers from other countries. Thank you for this great day. Many great films were made that day and everyone was a winner. 很榮幸能擔任「2019國際大學拍片運動」的評審，對我而 言，參與拍片運動最大的享受在於，看到來自世界各地的 年輕藝術家們，如何透過拍片來擴展想像力和創造力的界 線。拜現代科技所賜，人人都可以充分體驗到製作短片的 樂趣，拍片甚至可以是一種全新的社交連結。我認為這也 正是 「國際大學拍片運動」一直以來的精神，它提供給 來自世界各地的年輕創作者們，一個能充分體驗拍片的樂 趣，又可以建立起彼此之間文化串連的機會

It’s quite a pleasure to participate Cinemasport 2019 as one of the judges. The most of the great thing for me to enjoy the festival was to see how the young talents expanded their horizon with creativity and imagination.

Through the benefits of technology, making short film can be an enjoyment easily for everyone today. Furthermore, it’s a new way how people connect to each other. In my point of view, this is the spirit of Cinemasport festival. It has created a great opportunity for young people around the world to make the great enjoyment and good culture connection.

The Kick-Off Meeting 拍片開跑日 The kick-off meeting for Taiwan teams took place on the morning of Oct. 26, 2019 in Tainan and other countries participants to get together, cheer, and motivate each other right at the beginning of the filming days just before it the 10 hours film challenge starts. 台灣拍片日宣誓活動在2019年10月26日早上在台南和 其他國家舉行開跑宣誓活動，參賽者齊聚一堂，互相 加油打氣，緊接下來開始十小時的拍片衝刺。

The Opening 開幕 The screening was held in Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park on Nov 2, 2019. The activities began with live guitar performances. Right after that began two wonderful screenings.
