Romero Kantún es un pescador retirado, que vive aislado y solitario en su modesta casa en la Isla de Tris. Vive sumido en la nostalgia, acompañado por fantasmas de la vida que no pudo tener, por espíritus que viven con él o alrededor de él. Así, alcohólico y
esquizofrénico, se las arregla para pasar los últimos días de su vida entre la soledad y su alucinada compañía. Pero en el fondo siente que es tiempo de recuperar el amor que le fue arrebatado décadas atrás, cuando el destino lo hizo descubrir el gran yacimiento petrolero que terminó con la pesca en la isla y le ganó el rechazo de los pescadores. Kantun Romero is a retired fisherman, living isolated and lonely in his modest house on the island of Tris. Mr. Romero lives mired in nostalgia, accompanied by ghosts of the life that he did not have, by spirits that live with or around him. Thus, an alcoholic and schizophrenic, Mr. Romero manages to spend the last days of his life, between loneliness and his hallucinated companions. But he feels that it is time to reclaim the love that he lost decades ago, when fate made him discover the great oil field that ended fishing on the island and won him the fishermen’s rejection.

Joel fees safe when he is in the countryside with his hawk, until one day another falconer introduces him to Ilse, a secretary with whom he falls in love. The unexpected loss of his hawk interrupts the monotony of his days and suddenly confronts him with his past.
