SCHOOL NOTES Boone County schools » Grandparents Day was celebrated Sept. 10, but Florence Elementary honored grandparents with a “Grandparent’s Tea” the week before Grandparents Day. It started with the kindergartners and first-graders and ended with the fourthand fifth-graders. A total of 274 grandparents or grandparent representatives walked, rolled and shuffled into Florence Elementary to join their pride and joy for refreshments and bingo. In addition to traditional bingo they added a twist to the game and created “Experience Bingo” reflecting on the moments shared together with each other. For example they played a board game, read together, went to the zoo, or simply baked cookies together. See SCHOOL NOTES, Page 7A
