Seven Hills presents ‘Importance of Being Earnest’ Dec. 10-12 written.” The school’s production of the comedy is not a direct reproduction of the original but rather an adaptation, interpreted by Flanigan. “Oscar Wilde has been an inspiration to many and I’ve always wanted to direct this play,” Flanigan said. “Unfortunately it has only nine characters in it. So I came up with a conceit of ‘Ernest’ which allows me to have a cast of 37. The transitions are mine, but the scenes are all Oscar Wilde.”

The Seven Hills production is designed and executed by the 2009-2010 Technical Theater Class, under the supervision of Flanigan, who lives in Madisonville. Technical director and lighting designer for the production is Katie Hamilton of Hyde Park. Student technical director is Will Bahlman of Hyde Park. Tickets, $6 for adults and $5 for students, must be ordered in advance. For tickets or more information, call 272-5360.
