misuse can result in death. Yikes. Personally, I take eight prescription drugs – and I’m not even sick. When volunteers or staff notice that one of customers is confused or disoriented, we sometimes discover it is due to taking medications incorrectly. It is estimated that half of all prescription drugs are taken incorrectly. This is often caused by forgetfulness, a misunderstanding of instructions and concerns about a medication’s cost. Commander John Burke with the Warren County Drug Task Force is presenting information on the hazards of improper handling of prescription drugs.
