Jean G. Plaggenburg

Jean G. “Gene” Plaggenburg, 85, formerly of Erlanger, died Feb. 19, 2011, at Mountain Crest Nursing Home, Cincinnati. He was a foreman with Joe Graue Construction and head of maintenance at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. His wife, Audrey, died previously. Survivors include his son, Ralph Plaggenburg of Seattle, Wash.; granddaughter, Priscilla Maass of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two greatgrandchildren. He donated his body to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Memorials: Madonna Manor, 2344 Amsterdam Road, Villa Hills, KY 41017.

Dorothy G. Rippe

Dorothy G. Rippe, 87, of Crestview Hills, died March 2, 2011, at her residence. She was a retired secretary with Western-Southern Life Insurance Company, Cincinnati, and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell and 55+ Seniors Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved classical music and opera. Survivors include several cousins and friends. Burial was at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

John ‘Junior’ Rudde III

John Vincent “Junior” Rudde III, 23, of Morning View, died March 4, 2011, in an automobile accident on Rector Road in Morning View. He was a heavy equipment operator for M&W Excavation Company, Alexandria. He enjoyed driving dune buggies at M.V.M. Cross Country Club, racing at Florence Speedway and hunting and fishing. Survivors include his father, John Vincent Rudde Jr. of Morning View; mother, Tammy Graziani Mann of Berry, Ky.; sisters, Shelly Rudde of Owenton and Thalynn Moses Gibson of Dry Ridge; stepbrother, Danny Mann of Berry; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Betty Graziani of Union; and girlfriend, Felicia Martin of Independence. Disposition was cremation.

Joseph Schwartz

Joseph Anthony Schwartz, 85, of Erlanger, died Feb. 27, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Edgewood. He was a retired machinist with Ohio Knife Company, Cincinnati, and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Bishop Flaget Assembly No. 307, Holy Name Society of St. Henry Church, Elsmere, and a member and past grand knight of Fr. Bealer Knights of Columbus No. 3908.

He was a past president of Railway Clerks Local Union and Holmes High Boosters, past member of Covington Independent School Board, a starter at Kenton County Golf Course and a member of Golden Rule Masonic Lodge F&AM. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Tewell; daughter, Joanne Rockenstein of Parker, Colo.; sons, Steven Tewell of Covington and Raymond J. Tewell of Lakeside, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials: St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 S. Loop Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.

Frank Herman Voegtle

Frank Herman Voegtle, 87, of Covington, died March 2, 2011. He was a U.S. Marine Corps World War II veteran and a member of St. Augustine Church, the Kenton Game and Fish Association and the Lloyd Area Skeet Club. His wife, Ruth A. Uckotter Voegtle, died previously. Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Gough of Penfield, N.Y., and Mary Fran Stadtlander of Covington; sons, Gregory J. Voegtle of Independence and Michael Voegtle of Covington; sister, Mary Catherine Wilson of Covington; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Burial was at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.
