Students recognized by the National Merit Hispanic Recognition Program are Rachel Fagan of Loveland and Elisa Russell of Pierce Township. “Our students choose Saint Ursula Academy for its consistent high standard of academic excellence knowing the curriculum and co-curricular activities are designed to unlock the potential in each one of them; academically, socially and spiritually. We are very proud of these students and of their hard work to meet their academic goals,” Principal Craig Maliborski said. St. Ursula Academy teachers and students work together to participate in an educational process that promotes critical thinking, problem solving techniques, and higher level thinking. All are necessary elements for success on the PSAT test, which determines those chosen for the National Merit Program in all of the categories.

Rockwern Academy
» A three-year process has just come to a close with Rockwern Academy receiving word that it has been approved for full ISACS accreditation. ISACS, the Independent School Association of the Central States, provides accreditation, professional development and support services to more than 230 independent schools throughout the Midwest. In having achieved this milestone, Rockwern joins the ranks of Cincinnati Country Day School, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, Springer School, The New School Montessori, The Seven Hills School and Summit Country Day School.

» The faculty and staff at St. Vincent Ferrer took some time to commemorate the visit by Pope Francis to the United States. They took the opportunity to have a little fun as well, as “Flat Francis” stopped by the school on his way to Washington, D.C.

» Sharks were spotted at St. Vincent Ferrer in Kenwood. Eighth-graders dissected dogfish sharks in science class. They examined the outer anatomy and then made incisions to the sharks to open them and examine their internal anatomy. They studied their internal structures and what part each organ plays for the sharks, as well as which fins were responsible for speed, buoyancy, etc... According to teacher Tracey Vicknair, they did a “fabulous job!”
