Women’s club presents scholarships The Forest Park Women’s Club has awarded $1,000 scholarships to five recent high school graduates living in the Winton Woods school district. They are: Emily R. Cleary, daughter of Teresa and Tim Cleary of Springfield Township. She attended Winton Woods High School and will attend the University of Cincinnati majoring in nursing with a minor in Spanish. After graduation from college, she is interested in joining either Nurses Without Borders or the Peace Corps to help children in under-developed countries. Mary E. Devlin, daughter of Maggie and James Devlin of Greenhills. She participated on the swim and track teams at Roger Bacon High School, and received the Presidential Service Award for the past four years. She will attend Northern Kentucky University to study nursing.

She will attend the University of Cincinnati to major in graphic design through UC’s DAAP Honors program. She said her opportunities to travel to various countries and various cultural experiences have helped her to grow. Lohmann’s scholarship was made available from memorials to deceased members of the Forest Park Women’s Club by club members and friends.
Ursuline graduates receive awards Ursuline Academy celebrated its 168 seniors as they received their diplomas at the school's commencement exercises May 30 in the school gymnasium. The Class of 2012's efforts were rewarded this year with 90 percent of the class earning more than $22.8 million in college scholarships. In addition, there were several special awards given at the ceremony. The Christian Leadership Award, which is given to a graduate who demonstrates gospel
values in her personal and school community life, was awarded to Angela Bird of Springfield Township. The Centennial Spirit Award, which is given to a graduate who best exemplifies the spirit of Ursuline with her generosity, service, attitude and overall demeanor, was awarded to Lindsey Johnstone of Springfield Township. The graduation address was delivered by Ritu Narayan of West Chester Township, who was chosen by her class.
