St. Xavier students: Men for Others St. Xavier High School’s educational heritage stretches back more than 180 years – inspired by more than 450 years of Jesuit tradition – and is home to a warm, welcoming atmosphere of learning, friendship and spiritual affirmation. Boys from more than 100 grade schools across Greater Cincinnati come to St. X’s 110-acre campus and leave as men to populate the world with a genuine sense of purpose and belonging. St. Xavier is a collegepreparatory school. Each year more than 99 percent of its graduates matriculate to four-year colleges and universities. Eighty-four percent of the class of 2013 left with a college scholarship. The school offers 24 Advanced Placement courses in seven subject areas. Grounded in its Roman Catholic faith and Jesuit mission, St. Xavier calls its students to serve as Men for Others. Community service is not mandatory, yet more than 80 percent of the student body participates in some type of service program through the school. Students also participate in one of nine summer mission trips and five retreat programs over the course of their four years at St. X. St. Xavier boasts an impressive array of cocurricular activities, including 17 interscholastic varsity athletic teams, See ST. XAVIER, Page 11

Badin students serve, lead, maximize potential in family-friendly setting How do you spell high school success? B-a-d-i-n, in a vibrant, coed community that is on the cutting edge of 21st century opportunity. Badin High School’s vision will prepare our students to think, achieve, serve and lead as we provide an environment that allows students to maximize their potential in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

Right-sized classes, numerous elective offerings, outstanding facilities and strong extracurricular activities make Badin the model for Catholic education in Southwestern Ohio. Our excellent collegepreparatory program gives students the right stuff for life after Badin, while our smallerschool experience makes Badin the right place to have a memora-

ble high school career. We do all of this in a supportive coed community that underlines the point, “You’re going to deal with men and women your whole life ... you should do that in high school as well.” All students are welcome at Badin. They come to us from nearly 30 junior high schools in the Butler County and northern Cincinnati area, encompassing some 23 ZIP codes. All

students use iPad tablet computers throughout their academic program and are well-versed in the value of technology. Our students learn how to think for themselves, how to achieve success in all walks of life, how to serve the community around them, and how to lead the way not just in high school but in the future beyond Badin. That’s what Badin is all about. m
