DEATHS Patrick T. Birrer, M.D., 59, of Villa Hills, died Nov. 16 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Crescent Springs. He practiced emergency medicine from 1988-2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospitals and was the medical director of wound care and hyperbaric medicine from 2011-2015. He went on many mission trips, including Haiti, Honduras and Mexico, where he provided medical care for the disadvantaged. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Birrer; children, Holly, Rachel, Kimmy, and Noah Birrer; and brother, Michael Birrer of Tucson, Arizona. Burial was at St. Mary Cemetery in Fort Mitchell. Memorials: St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 S. Loop Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017; Notre Dame Academy, 1699 Hilton Drive, Covington, KY 41011; or Covington Catholic High School, 1600 Dixie Highway, Park Hills, KY 41011.

Joyce Davis Joyce Ann Davis, 88, of Elsmere, died Nov. 15 at her home. She was a member of Erlanger Church of Christ for 57 years and she enjoyed keeping up with

current events and following politics. Her husband, Donald D. Davis, died previously. Survivors include her daughters, Susan Willis and Diane Davis-Cain; son, Steve Davis; brother, Jerome Liefert; sister, Carol Langston; and five grandchildren. Memorials: Erlanger Church of Christ, 458 Graves Ave., Erlanger, KY 41018.

Robert Keller Robert “Frank� Keller, 82, of Edgewood, died Nov. 17. He was an accountant, who worked at Rankin & Rankin for nine years and the commonwealth of Kentucky for 28 years. He also was a member of the Florence Lions Club, Five Seasons, Hibernians, and served as past treasurer of the Beechwood Swim Club and the Florence Lions Club. His siblings, Jack and Joe Keller, Margaret Ransom, and Evelyn Keller, died previously. Survivors include his wife, Velma Keller of Edgewood; sons, Mark Keller of Edgewood and Chris Keller of Villa Hills; siblings, Loretta Doll of Louisville, William Keller of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Charles Keller of Richmond, Virginia; and five grandchildren. Mausoleum entombment was at St. Mary Cemetery in Fort

Ann Schlachter Ann J. Schlachter, 74, of Ryland Heights, died Nov. 13 at her home. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and sewing. Survivors include her husband, Don Schlachter; daughters, Debora Sebastian and Angela M. Stephenson; sons, Mark D. Schlachter, Timothy Louis Schlachter, and Kenneth Schlachter; sisters, Barbara Faulkner and Brenda Lewis; brothers, Raymond Anderson, Richard Anderson, Gary Anderson, and Ronnie Anderson; and eight grandchildren along with two great-grandchildren. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Morning View. Memorials: Alzheimer’s Association, 644 Linn St., Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.

Nancy Secrist Nancy L. Secrist, 77, of Elsmere, died Nov. 11 at Woodcrest Manor Nursing Home in Elsmere. She was a retired insurance agent, member of Holy Cross Church in Latonia, Covington

Randy Townsend Randy E. Townsend, 61, of Kenton County, died Nov. 8 at St. Elizabeth Florence. He was an avid bass fisherman and a member of Erlanger Loin’s Club. His parents, Richard and Camilla Townsend; and three siblings, died previously. Survivors include his wife, Edie Casterline; children, Heath Townsend, Katie Branch, and Daniel Townsend; and 14 grandchildren along with three greatgrandchildren.
