DEATHS William Powell William Gerald Powell, 74, of Campbell County, died July 31. Jerry graduated from Highlands High School and the University of Cincinnati. Jerry was very involved in coaching sports for his children Steve Powell, Wendy Howard and Christy de Leon while they were growing up and loved being around the family. He was very active in the community and in his church while he lived in Fort Thomas. Some of the best times he had were watching football and basketball games His wife, Gayle Parker Powell; and son, Steve Powell, died previously. Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Howard; and two granddaughters. Burial was at Alexandria Cemetery in Alexandria. Memorials: Orphan Care Alliance, 115 N. Watterson Trail, Suite 201, Louisville, KY 40243.

Donald Roll Donald S. Roll, 83, of Cincinnati and formerly of Campbell County, died July 26. He was a retired commercial artist and business owner of Don Roll & Associates and D.R. Fulfillment Inc. He was also a former Newport City Commissioner. His daughter, Lori Roll Owens; and brothers, Tom and Robert Roll, died previously. Survivors include his life partner, Joan Schraffenberger; sons, Michael Roll, Patrick Roll, and Jeffrey Roll; daughters, Donna Roll and Christy Embs; siblings, Shirley Kirby, Marilyn Bridewell, Virginia Walz, and Albert Roll; the mother of his children, Anna Price Roll; and 10 grandchildren along with

12 great-grandchildren. Memorials: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Gary Scott Gary Dale Scott, 72, of Kissimmee, Florida, and formerly of Cold Spring, died July 8 at Florida Hospital in Kissimmee. He was a professor at Northern Kentucky University and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. His son, Robert “Rob” Scott, died previously. Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Werner; sister, Joyce Scott; and two grandsons. Burial with military honors was at Alexandria Cemetery.

Eileen Smith Eileen E. Smith, 94, of Alexandria, died July 31 at the Baptist Convalescent Center in New-

port. She was a homemaker, longtime member of the Alexandria Cemetery board of directors, member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ of Alexandria, and a member of the Me & Thee club at church. She never missed an activity, performance or sporting event of any of her grandchildren and she filled her days with gardening, shopping, baby-sitting, reading to her grandchildren, and talking on the phone until all hours of the night. Her husband, Bill Smith; and brother, Carroll Kuhl, died previously. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Ling; son, Bill Smith; and five grandchildren along with eight great-grandchildren. Interment was at Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials: St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1 N. Jefferson

Pamela Terry Pamela Ann Terry, 64, of Bellevue, died July 28 at her home. Her husband, Ronald Everett Terry; and father, Herbert Hebel, died previously. Survivors include her children, Joshua Terry, Maredith Terry, and Samantha Terry; stepson, Michael Terry; mother, Mary Lou Hebel; siblings, Cindy Klein, Gary Hebel, Randy Hebel, and Paula Hammond; and seven grandchildren. She donated her body to the University of Cincinnati Medical College. Memorials: Grandview Elementary Preschool, 500 Grandview Ave., Bellevue, KY 41073; or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
