DEATHS Wilbur “Will” Baumann Wilbur “Will” H. Baumann, 94, of Wilder, died Jan. 6 at the Barrington of Oakley, Cincinnati. He retired from Wiedemann Brewery in Newport. He was also a Queen City umpire, a member of the Wilder Police Department, a Turfway Security Guard and a member of St. John’s Parish in Wilder. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. His wife, Dorothy Baumann,
and his son Bill Baumann died previously. Survivors include his sons, Ken and Mike Baumann; daughters, Linda Boden, Jan Baumann and Carol Kling; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph, Edward, Howard and Leonard Baumann; and sisters, Betty Verst and Marian Rust. Richard Brock Richard A. Brock, 45, of Fort Thomas, died Jan. 4 at University Hospital. He was a member of Grateful Life Center. Survivors include his wife; Pam Brock; sons, Troy Brock, Jacob Brock, and Raichard Brock Jr.; daughters, Ashley Estepp,
Brittney Estepp, and Erica Mills; mother, Jaunita Brock; brother, Wayne Brock; sister, Amanda Pope; and five grandchildren. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery.
Dorothy Calvin Dorothy May Calvin, 93, formerly of Alexandria and Covington, died Jan. 4 at Burlington House Nursing Home in Cincinnati. She was a former waitress at Betsy Ann Restaurant in Alexandria. Her husband, Samuel Calvin, died previously. Survivors include her children, Barb Malone, Sandy Calvin, Jim Calvin and Joe Calvin; and eight grandchildren along with 19 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger.
Damon Cooper Damon Kent Cooper, 56, of Cold Spring, died Jan. 4 at his home. He had worked as a bus driver for Campbell County Schools and was a member of the Bob White Club and the NRA. His wife, Tina R. Cooper, died previously. Survivors include his son, Lucas Cooper; daughter, Carolann Belden; sisters, Ressie Hall and Robin Sparks; and a granddaughter. Beecher Davis Jr. Beecher Thomas Davis Jr., 88, of Alexandria, died Jan. 7 at St. Elizabeth Fort Thomas. He had worked at Butler Rock Quarry as a loader and was also a packer at Castellini. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a Teamster. His wife, Wanda Louise Davis; and daughter, Julie Adams, died previously. Survivors include his children; Taylor Glenn Davis, Glenda Merritt, Cynthia Fries, Sandra Hurst, Patricia Adams, Connie Breeze, and Rebecca Seiter; sister, Barbara Whitaker; and 16 grandchildren along with 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery.

Joseph Church in Cold Spring and several social organizations including Campbell Social Seniors, Silver Bells and Beaux, Sienna Seniors, and Senior Citizens of Bellevue-Dayton. She was an avid card player; her favorites included pinochle, bridge and euchre. She worked as a waitress at Avenue Restaurant and arranged flowers at Mag’s Flower Shop. Her husband, Tom Kachler; and siblings, Buddy, Eddie, Frannie, Marie and Thelma, died previously. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Gormiller of Bellevue; son, George Johns of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; and four grandchildren along with eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Burial was at St. Stephen Cemetery.

Hetty Bowling Geary, 78, of Bellevue, died Jan. 8 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was a retired foreman with Sears/Kent Corp. and also retired from Kroger. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dayton. Her brother, Robert Bowling, died previously. Survivors include her daughters, Frances Austin and Linda Luken; sons, Robert DeZarn and Michael Geary; brothers, Leslie, Carl, and Vernon Bowling; sisters, Mildred Hensley and Nancy Hardin; and four grandsons along with two greatgrandsons. Shirley Mae Martin King, 84, of Fort Thomas, died Jan. 6 at her home. She was a long-standing member of Christ Church United Church of Christ in Fort Thomas and also volunteered for many years in the gift shop at St. Elizabeth Fort Thomas. Her son, Paul Douglas King, died previously. Survivors include her husband, Jim King; daughter, Lori Ballhaus; and three grandchildren along with three great-grandchildren. Donald S. House, 83, of Fort Thomas, died Jan. 9 at his home. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring as a master sergeant. He also retired from the city of Fort Thomas. His wife, Dollie Wilson House; and sister, Bonnie Jean Harlow, died previously. Survivors include his daughters, Tana Loveless, Lana Vaughan, Marya Stadler, and Traci Wheatley; sister, Evelyn Jones; and four grandchildren along with two great-granddaughters. He attended Northern Kentucky University and Marshall University where he obtained a master’ degree in psychology and Michigan State University where he earned his Ph.D. in social psychology with a minor in statistics. He was a marketing executive in hospitality services before his retirement and mem-
Virginia D. Hyder, 80, of Bellevue, died Jan. 7 at St Elizabeth Hospice. She was class valedictorian of her 1953 class at Harrison County High School and she attended Georgetown College from 1953 to 1957 before marrying and moving to Bellevue. She later earned her master’s degree from Northern Kentucky University and taught at both Bellevue Middle School and Grandview Elementary before retiring after 30 years as a teacher. She was a member of Covenant-First Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati and also attended First Baptist Church in Bellevue. She was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Zeta Chapter and served on various committees as an officer. She volunteered her time to the Kentucky Central Railroad Historical Society and Cincinnati Tall Stacks. Her husband, Jack A. Hyder, died previously. Survivors include her sons, John Hyder of Wheaton, Illinois, and Andrew “Drew” Hyder of Fort Thomas; brothers, Virgil Dryden and Wayne Dryden, both of Cynthiana; and four grandchildren. Magdalen Kachler Magdalen C. Kachler, 99, of Campbell County, died Jan. 6. She was a member of St.
Carl Prickett Carl Allen Prickett, 84, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and formerly of Bellevue, died Jan. 6 at his home. He was a 1949 graduate of Bellevue High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he was stationed in Italy. He was a systems designer and engineer that worked with central office telephone equipment. His career took him from Galion, Ohio, Johnson City, Tennessee, and finally Raleigh, where he resided for the past 30 years. He had worked for North Electric, United Telephone, ITT Telecom, and Northern Telecom. He enjoyed watching college basketball, reading books, enjoying good food, discussing current events, working in the yard, and doing home projects. His brother, Glenn Prickett, died previously. Survivors include his wife, Selma Lee Hoffstedder Prickett; children, Stephanie Crase, David Prickett, and Wayne Prickett; and six grandchildren along with six great-grandchildren. Richard Rice Richard Rice, 83, of Southgate, died Jan. 9 at St. Elizabeth Hospice. He was a long-standing member of St. Therese Parish, member of the Bob White Club, Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name Society, past member of the Campbell County Planning and Zoning Commission, and Kentucky Colonel along with being an Admiral of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
