Foster - encourage or promote the development of (something, typically something regarded as good.)

As we continue to change gears in 2021 we must make sure that we Foster opportunities, relationships, and collaborations. Fostering in encouraging or promoting the development of something, typically something regarded as good.

We have to be willing to look for mutually beneficial opportunities. We have to look for new people to network with and be willing to take calculated risks to move each other forward. There has to be some time, energy, and effort into developing those relationships so that moving forward makes sense.

Fostering and cultivating relationships is how we grow. It’s how we expand our horizons to come to a better place. However, just like fostering and cultivating a plant, there are times when weeds have to be identified and removed. In the words of my good friend, Wendell Graham That takes you being H.O.T. Honest, Open and Transparent.

You have to willing to have the tough conversation so that you can acknowledge, address, and attack any weeds that may arise. Once that’s done the next thing is to feed the relationship.

They have plant food called Miracle Grow that feeds the roots of the plant so the plant can reach its full potential. How can you feed the roots of the relationships in your life so that they can reach their full potential? You have to know something about all parties and what benefits they are looking for and make sure that you all have a common goal.

Make sure the relationship has everything it needs to grow. One of the most important items is time. Time is like water to a relationship. Spend time focusing on making strides forward towards a common goal and the results will be the Fostering of the relationship.

Including all of this will ensure that the results that you are looking for will be achieve and you can get to your desired gear as you drive towards your goal.
