DJ Belle interview

Hi, I’m DJ Belle, a Naarm based DJ, originally from Eora, Sydney

When did you start DJing, and long have you been playing for? What made you wantto start?

When I was 18 years old, I moved to Melbourne for University and started DJing at University events and parties where I discovered the breadth of dance music genres. I’ve been DJing now for six years, but DJing professionally for probably three. The move to Melbourne definitely ignited my passion for dance music as the scene here is unparalleled, with an abundance of gigs / events you can attend almost any night of the week.

I would say the drive to start building a presence / name for myself started during the pandemic. Because we spent so much time at home, I started to listen to more music than ever and found labels like Textasy & FTP and International Chrome which have been major influences on my music style today.
