Getting the Right Tech in the Hands of Our Team Members

Cianbro Equipment is full steam ahead, embracing new opportunities brought on by the technological advancements of the 21st century. The team has made it a strategic imperative to capitalize on those opportunities to better serve our customers and ensure a better return for The Cianbro Companies.

Improved micro-chip processing and manufacturing techniques combined with expanded cellular data coverage have made widescale use of GPS and data collection more economical and commonplace. It was only a few years ago when electronic tracking sensors were the size of a deck of cards and were costly to purchase and install. Now they are the size of a coin and can be installed in minutes. In addition, these sensors can be placed on most types of tools or pieces of equipment to collect real-time information. Cianbro Equipment now has more than 400 vehicles and other pieces of equipment with data collection devices. This allows the team to make better decisions on everything from maintenance cycles to purchasing new equipment. Adopting these tools and techniques is moving Cianbro Equipment to the forefront of our industry and placing us in a position to capitalize on the future.

Another significant technological advancement of the 21st century has been the rise of e-commerce. The ease and expectation of using a computer or mobile device to find what we need, order it, and have it delivered to us have become intrinsically integrated into our daily lives. So much so that recalling a time without these technologies is foreign to many of us. Cianbro Equipment has taken the first steps to integrate these concepts and services into our offerings, laying the foundation for a more efficient tool and equipment management platform with the Marketplace. Team members can now search for tools, forms, shoring, scaffolds, and safety items, build their shopping carts, and order what they need. As we move forward, equipment rentals, transportation requests, and construction material purchases will be directed through the Marketplace, allowing for a true one-stop destination for all of our customers’ needs.
