In September, the team at Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas, was honored with Dow’s Safety Sustainability Award and Safety Excellence Award. The Safety Sustainability Award recognizes contractor companies that have worked more than 50,000 work hours with exceptional safety performance. The Safety Excellence Award recognizes contractor companies that have worked more than 50,000 hours on-site for over a year, helped contribute to overall facility OSHA rating of .10, and have been a top performer on all site processes. Last summer, Starcon was honored with the ABC STEP Diamond Award at the Houston Chapter Membership Breakfast. Last year marks the eighth consecutive year Starcon has achieved the STEP Diamond level — the highestranking award ABC gives out. “It’s an honor to be recognized by ABC,” said David Folmar, Starcon’s Director of HSSE. “STEP is an invaluable tool for measuring our safety performance against the best of the best. We use it to help ensure we’re keeping up with the most current safety techniques.”
