SPRING VALLEY ACADEMY COMMUNITY CHIP — Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIP) is being offered in Kettering. The US surgeon general has announced that 70% of our disease is caused by lifestyle, the choices we make regarding what we eat and how active we are. This world class, 40 hour lifestyle enrichment is designed to give participants the tools to take charge of their health in a community experience. Although it is conducted by volunteer medical and educational professionals, there is a fee to cover the costs of two lab tests, materials and recipe samples: $275 for single or $375 for double participants who share materials. Start your new life by attending one of three Free information sessions at Kettering Medical Center, cafeteria room #2 Ÿ Sunday 8/21, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Monday 8/22, 7 - 8 p.m. OR Ÿ Wednesday 8/24, 7 - 8 p.m. The CHIP sessions are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for 16 days through September. Good Neighbor House — Good Neighbor House requests donations of school supplies for the children of our clients. We would greatly appreciate your donations of school supplies like: crayons, pencils, rulers, notebook paper, binders, glue, and notebooks. Items can be dropped off at the church or Good Neighbor House Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. For more information please contact Marcia Ehlers at 2243003 Ext: 108 Golden Buckeye Fellowship — The GBF Chartered Bus Trip to sites in Columbus will be Sunday, September 11. Featured stops are the Ohio Statehouse, Franklin Park Conservatory, and the Ohio Historical Center. This is an all-day event: the tour bus departs from the Kettering SDA parking lot promptly at 8:30 a.m. and returns around 7:30 p.m. The fee is $55 per person, which includes transportation, admissions and two meals.
