Hello Bride-to-be and Welcome! This is such an exciting time for you! We are Chris and Shawna, the husband and wife team that make up Ch & Sh Fredericks Photography!! We’re so excited that you found us and because we believe that getting to know our clients is the #1 way to ensure an awesome experience, we’d love to tell you a litte about us! Here are a few things you should know!
- We grew up together in Pennsylvania and became College Sweethearts! - We’ve been married since 8-4-12 (Best. Day. Ever) - We don’t have children, but we do have two spoiled basset hounds, Rollie & Esther! - We have lived in Hampton Roads for 6 years and love to travel! - Shawna is the lead photographer, blogger and editor! -Chris is Shawna’s second shooter, videographer, and comedian! - We shoot 20 weddings annually! - We love creating beautiful images, but more importantly, we love being with our couples on one of the greatest days of their lives!! Our relationship with our couples goes beyond their wedding day, lazer tag, birthday parties and amusement parks are just a few fun activities in which we create memories along side our couples! OUR PHILOSOPHY |
We’re sure your mind is racing with all that needs to be planned. It’s
all very exciting but it can also be somewhat overwhelming. You’re planning the day that you’ve been anticipating your whole life and yet you only get one shot at it! By the time you get the hang of it, the planning is over! Our goal as wedding photographers is to make this one aspect of the planning process simple. Photography is more than just images, it’s a real part of your day. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you also deserve an amazing photographic experience. When our couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, that results in genuine, joyful images! When we think back to our wedding day, we remember amazing memories.... but most of the moments we remember really well are the instances that were captured in our pictures. They are priceless to us. Our photographer made us feel so incredibly comfortable and for the first time, we experienced what it feels like to be in front of the camera as a bride and groom. Your wedding day is an experience from beginning to end and your photography is a huge part of that experience..... shouldn’t it be fun? and enjoyable? and natural? We think so! Our goal is to not only capture memories for our clients, it’s to create an experience that they will never forget.
T H E P R O C E S S | One way we ensure that our couples enjoy the BEST photographic experience possible is through forming a relationship with our couples.. We strongly believe that couples should connect with their photographer, trust their photographer and be EXCITED about the whole process with them! After booking, we love getting to know our couples through an ENGAGEMENT SESSION that helps them warm up to the camera so that they are ready to rock and roll on the wedding day! Also, we often set-up double dates with our couples after this session to enjoy each other away from the camera. Arcades, dinner, and game nights are our favorite activities to enjoy with our couples. By the time the wedding day arrives, our couples feel more like friends and that creates a safe and relaxed environment for photography! WHY INVEST? Your first decision as an engaged couple is to set priorities for your wedding planning. You have to decide what you value most. Is it the dress? The food? The Venue? From our experience of both being married and as photographers, we believe that couples should make their photography a top priority. After the big day is over, you will leave your reception with a spouse & your pictures.... that’s it! All of that planning and preparation is over in a matter of hours! So if you’re choosing to invest in high quality photography, those images deserve a classy, elegant home after the wedding. We offer high-end Legacy Albums for our wedding clients. The images are printed straight onto the pages and the covers are wrapped with leather (to make your album more unique, there are other cover options available). This is the perfect ending to The Wedding Experience and it’s a keepsake that you will be showing your family and friends years after you say “I DO”!

Do you travel for engagements? We are more than willing to travel for sessions! We

How soon should we book our session? We book engagement sessions at least two months in advance.
How many photos will we receive? We average 100 images per hour when we are

How do we receive our photos? We love delivering our couples’ files easily via an online gallery called PASS. You will have the ability to print, share and download your images as much as you want. We believe in freely sharing our work because that is what we would want if we were in your shoes!
How much coverage do you recommend? The majority of our couples choose 8 hours.

It allows the most flexibility to capture your day. Every wedding day is unique, once we know your timeline, we can help you make the best decision.
How do you capture the day? We are both interactive and discreet throughout the wedding day. There will be parts of the wedding day that are particularly special to

you that will require more of our instruction to accomplish. There will also be moments when you shouldn’t even know that we’re there. We coach our couples how to pose and interact during their engagement session so they are naturals on the wedding day and don’t need quite as much instruction from us!
What is required to book? Once we have answered any questions you may have and you have decided that our Wedding Experience is exactly what you’re looking for
BOOKING:
on your wedding day, the next step is a booking proposal. We will create an online proposal that will walk you through the collection and when you’re ready you can save your date by signing your contract and paying your retainer (20% of wedding collection).
