Founded in 1993 by skateboarders Rodney Smith, Eli Morgan Gesner, and Adam Schatz; Zoo York is the East Coast’s first true skateboarding-inspired lifestyle brand. They used the various elements of 90s New York youth culture as the inspiration for the brand: skateboarding, hip-hop, graffiti and fashion. From the most influential independent skate shops, all the way to major mid-tier retailers like JCP and Stage. To this day the brand is still worn (and the boards ridden) by some of the best skateboarders, artists and celebrities from New York and beyond. Chad Ortiz is a skateboarder and the brand ambassador for Zoo York. The Zoo York sunglass collection serves up a wide-range of casual looks for men; with influences from New York City’s skateboarding, hip-hop, and graffiti cultures. Zoo York is now an iconic brand in the skateboard community and is the only lifestyle brand to have a global influence from the East Coast. Additionally, the company continues to be backed strongly by some of the biggest names in the skateboard community.
