Christian Brothers Services (CBS) is a nonprofit, Catholic organization that administers cooperative programs in the areas of health, retirement, property/casualty and technology, as well as financial, administrative and Catholic school consulting to faith-based organizations. CBS provides an annual contribution to support Christian Brothers Conference.
n President/CEO of Christian Brothers Services (CBS), Brother Michael Quirk, FSC, Ed.D., retired in August 2022 after 14 years as president. Patrick C. Lynch, CFA, succeeds Brother Michael as the first president/ CEO who is not a Brother in the organization’s 62-year history. Lynch began his term as the Lasallian ministry’s fourth president/CEO on September 1, 2022. He follows CBS founder Brother Joel Damian, FSC (19601985), Brother William Walz, FSC (1985-2008), and Brother Michael (2008-2022) in the position. He brings three decades of experience in the financial services and banking industries, including serving as a senior vice president at Bank of America followed by 21 years as founder, president and CEO of Chicago Equity Partners, a boutique investment advisory firm launched in 2000. Lynch was chosen as CBS president/CEO in part because of his outstanding history in customer service and team building. “Any success we had over the years was the direct result of a great team effort focused on helping clients/ members. We built a culture upon the pillars of ethics, transparency and accountability. I know these are also values instilled in the foundation of CBS, which made this such a great fit for me,” he said.
Commitment to Catholic Identity and Lasallian Heritage
As the first non-Brother to serve as president/CEO at CBS, Lynch is committed to supporting the company’s Catholic identity and Lasallian heritage. “In our case, the Lasallian way can continue throughout the company, being very mindful about doing the work to keep it vibrant. I am committed and devoted to do that,” he said.
Throughout his career, he has advocated a “pay it forward” philosophy to assist new generations of students in obtaining Catholic educations. Lynch serves or has served on various boards with ties to Catholic Patrick C. Lynch, CFA, is the first president/CEO of Christian Brothers Services who is not a Brother.
