WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

“We are Swiss nationals of Italian, German and Austrian descent. Before coming to Singapore for work-related reasons, we lived in the Caribbean.

“During our stint in the British Virgin Islands, we were Members of the Swiss Club in Puerto Rico. It was clear to us that we wanted to remain an active part of this international community. “ Thanks to its unique location, you feel like you’re entering a resort as soon as you set foot inside the Club. It feels like you’re on holiday, with everything your heart desires on offer.

The low staff turnover fosters a loyalty that goes beyond a pure customer relationship. This contributes a lot to the friendly and familiar atmosphere. We also love the food inspired from all over the world, especially the tandoori.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE SWISS CLUB?

WHY DID YOU JOIN THE SWISS CLUB?

“The renovated Swiss Club shines loftily on the little hill, like a newly crowned king on his throne!

We like the new air-conditioned, modern coworking space and lounge, which has an open feel thanks to the glass doors. The new library in particular delights us bookworms. Pergola’s facelift has awakened the once Sleeping Beauty from its slumber. Without a doubt, Arbenz went through the most enchanting metamorphosis. We love having a glass of wine at the new terrace.

Fortunately, the quality has not changed, be it the extremely courteous staff – from the gardener to the Management, or the excellent culinary delights.

“Moritz has swimming lessons in the sports pool three times a week. But if you are looking for the whole Denk family, you will find us in one of the cosy restaurants!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT THE RENOVATED CLUBHOUSE?

“When we moved to Singapore, we stayed in the Guesthouse for the first week. It felt like home. Somehow, we put down roots there. Every year we celebrate our wedding anniversary at Arbenz, which is always made unforgettable by the staff!

HOW HAS THE SWISS CLUB HELPED YOUR FAMILY THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC?

“It has been a lifeline! The food delivery service and takeaway offered unequalled opportunities for enjoying the food we’ve come to love. Thankfully, due to the tight Management, the Club has remained open for Members to enjoy as much as possible.

“The fishing experience at Orto was definitely unforgettable. On 11 December 2021, Moritz and I volunteered for the Swiss Club charity event Ray of Hope. It was such a rewarding experience to pack the gifts, write the cards and see the people’s happy faces.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE TO FELLOW MEMBERS, OLD AND NEW, WITH REGARDS TO GETTING THE MOST OUT OF THE SWISS CLUB?

“Get involved! Forget the stress of everyday life and let yourself be pampered at the Club. Be it through sporting activities, a relaxing stay at the pool, a visit to the hairdresser or dining at one of the excellent restaurants, there is something for everyone.

“Wishes are rooted in dreams. We wish Singapore and the world a peaceful and healthy 2022. When everyone contributes a little, dreams can come true.
