SINGAPORE FINTECH FESTIVAL

Federal Councillor Maurer, his team and a delegation from the private sector attended the Singapore FinTech Festival, the world’s largest event for technology and financial services that takes place every year in November. The delegation was welcomed at a briefing session at the Swiss Club.

© EFD/DFF At the opening of the FinTech Festival, Ueli Maurer highlighted Switzerland’s advantages as a location for digital financial services. During his visit, he met with Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, Singapore’s Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, as well as Senior Minister and Monetary Authority of Singapore Chairman Tharman Shanmugaratnam. The exchange focused on enhanced cooperation between our two countries both in the area of digital and sustainable financial services and in international financial and tax bodies.

Moreover, Federal Councillor Maurer opened the Switzerland-Singapore FinTech Evening on 7 November, where he emphasised that Switzerland will continue to promote FinTech and help building a bridge between Asia and Europe. During the evening, Singapore and Swiss experts also gave insights into key trends of sustainable and digital finance.
