Located in Gainesville Florida, Bolen’s Bluff acts as a threshold EHWZHHQ WKH IRUHVWU\ DQG 3D\QHœV 3UDLULH 7KH SURMHFW H[SORUHV the creation of a research compound and retreat for the study of water and sunlight in pursuit of sustainable applications The compound became rooted to the site through maximizing views DQG VXQ RULHQWDWLRQ $ YLVLWRUœV FHQWHU DQG OLEUDU\ ZHUH LQFOXGHG in order to inform transients of current progressions and overall IXQFWLRQV RI WKH FRQVWUXFW &RUH elements of the site, such as PDMRU WUHHV WKH IHQFH WKH EHQFK VXE FOHDULQJV WKHVH DOO became nodes, which generated a system of measure and grid IRU VLWH SODFHPHQW /RFDWHG RQ D VWHHS WRSRJUDSKLFDO VORSH RI the region, the research laboratory acts as a view outward and D GH¿ QLQJ horizontal gesture into the prairie landscape, blurring the distinction between bluff and prairie. The remainder of the compound becomes an extension of this gesture, shifting and responding to new relationships that form as the itinerary FRQWLQXHV
