ormer president George W. Bush critiqued Drumpf’s statements against the press in an interview on the Today show. “I consider the media to be indispensable to democracy. We need an independent media to hold people like me to account. Power can be very addictive and it can be corrosive and it’s important for the media to call to account people who abuse power…”

ush responded to Drumpf’s Muslim Ban by offering a defense of religious freedom, “I think it’s very important for all of us to recognize one of our great strengths is for people to be able to workshop the way they want to or to not worship at all…I understood right off the bat that this was an ideological conflict and people who murder the innocent are not religious people – they want to advance an ideology and we have faced those kinds of ideologues in the past.”

rumpf lied again. When asked, “Do you support a special prosecutor on Russia?” Drumpf responded, “I haven’t called Russia in 10 years.” This despite the Saturday phone call with Putin on January 29, 2017 and that he held Miss Universe in Moscow in 2013 and talked deals there. His tweet from November 10, 2013: “I just got back from Russia-learned lots & lots. Moscow is a very interesting and amazing place! U.S. MUST BE VERY SMART AND VERY STRATEGIC.”
