ish and chips has been enjoyed by generations in Cornwall following its introduction in the mid-1800s. Becks Fish and Chips, St Ives St Ives is a real Cornish jewel of a town, and home to hidden gem chip shop Becks. Crispy batter, flaky fish and crunchy chips are on sale at this seaside venue, where you can shelter from the sun and sit in, or takeaway to enjoy at the water’s edge. 2Chill member Susan Griffin rated the eatery five stars, and said: “Arguably one of the best is Becks Fish and Chips near St Ives. Andrew Townsend said: “Pickwicks’ dining area has a certain retro feel about it which adds to its charm. More than 70 years on, it is still producing tasty fish and chips.” The Cod End, Newquay Andrew Townsend dubs this chip shop ‘the place to visit’. The Cod End has a cafe seating area overlooking the sea and is said to have good vegetarian and gluten free options, all cooked fresh. Andrew Townsend said: “There are great views over Great Western Beach from the dining area and there’s a great choice of food, as well, including burgers, pies and pasties.” www.2chill.co.uk

You’ll be able to rest your legs at Chip Ahoy, on Broad Street - a small chip shop with a handful of tables and chairs outside. Andrew Townsend recommended the chippy on 2Chill having stumbled across it on a summer evening.
