SESSION #4 INNOVATIONS AND CHALLENGES FROM THE BANKING SECTOR AND CIVIL SOCIETY This session was designed to allow participants to hear from the finalists for the Child and Youth Friendly Banking Award and the Civil Society Achievement Award on both their success stories as well as their implementation challenges. Following the presentations of each of the finalists, the participants were split into four groups to further brainstorm solutions together on the stated challenges. The breakout groups were divided by the following challenge themes: 1) Banking the Generation Z – what tools and approaches can banks use to engage with the young people? (Speakers: Ms. Małgorzata Kocoń from PKO Bank Polski in Poland and Mr. Clint Wilson from Nimbl in the UK). 2) Brining financial services to

youth living in rural areas (Speakers: Ms. Ruth Orbach from Care Canada in Burundi and Ms. Elena Kurtanidze from the Bank of Georgia) 3) Finding the long term business case for investing in youth financial services (Ms. Inna Rusakovich from Belarusbank in Belarus and Mr. Lukas Wellen from Opportunity International in Uganda) 4) Scaling up programs through technology and becoming more sustainable (Ms. Natalia Filippova from Sberbank in Russia, Mr. Miklos Matolcsy from the Money Compass Foundation in Hungary and Mr. Gary Rabbior from the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education)

Central Bank, closed the workshop sessions with a presentation on the history of the central bank and monetary policy in the country.

GUIDED TOURS AT THE ROYAL COIN CABINET Afterwards, before preparing to attend the evening’s Awards Ceremony, participants were treated to a guided tour of the history of currency and finance at the Royal Coin Cabinet.
