LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT- Harvey Krautschun Harvey Krautschun and his wife Joy started a New York Life business in 1976 in Spearfish providing pension and retirement plans before starting Financial Benefits Inc. in 1979. Harvey served in the South Dakota Legislature for 12 years as a representative from District 31 and held the position of Speaker of the House his last term. He has served on the BHSU Foundation Board of Directors for many years, including time as president of the group. He has also served in other community leadership roles including Spearfish Lion’s Club, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the West River Estate Planning Council and more. Alexandra “Peedee” Hansen began her dream of becoming an independent barista when she purchased her first transit van just one year ago. Peedee roves the streets of Spearfish and neighboring communities in her Blue Spruce Coffee Truck. She embodies positivity and joyfulness in all she does. Peedee uses locally sourced products to support her neighbor businesses, and a key piece of her business plan is charitable giving. Every quarter Peedee donates a portion of the business proceeds to a local cause.
SPIRIT OF SPEARFISH - Zac Eixenberger Born and raised as a Spearfishian, Zac Eixenberger goes above and beyond for Spearfish when he sees a need to be filled. Not only does he own and operate three local businesses, he started a non-profit organization that has raised thousands of dollars for various organizations in our community. He is known as a spontaneous giver. Established in 2015, he gathered a team of friends and created a non-profit organization to raise funds and awareness for local groups and charities through music events. MICROPOLITAN - Alexandra “Peedee” Hansen dollars for organizations

BUSINESS BEAUTIFICATION - Calvin & Dorcie Dardis Calvin and Dorcie Dardis did an amazing job creating a main street studio space with rustic modern ambiance for professional & personal meetings, classes, and special events. The renovation process was long indeed, as most are. One of the goals of the renovation was to restore some of the original features of the building. These included the original tin ceilings and exposing the historic brick walls. Calvin and Dorcie personally took to preserving the tin for the ceiling and restoring the brick walls.

YOUNG PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR - Aleisha Hale Huppler Aleisha has been very active in the Spearfish community since moving here and currently sits on seven boards and/or committees. She holds the title of Lieutenant Governor for the Optimist Black Hills district and serves on the leadership team for the Spearfish Chapter. Aleisha is a leader on the Chamber’s ‘The Hook’ Young Professionals Organizing Committee and an active board member for The Booth Society at D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery. She is involved at the Countryside Church and serves as a Youth Leader and loves working with teenagers in any capacity.
