U.S. WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM TO PLAY FRIENDLY MATCHES AGAINST KOREA REPUBLIC ON JUNE 15 IN FOXBOROUGH, MASS., AND JUNE 20 IN HARRISON, N.J. U.S. Women Will Make Northeast Swing to Play at Gillette Stadium and Red Bull Arena

HICAGO (May 3, 2013) - The U.S. Women's National Team will play two friendly matches in six days this summer, taking on the Korea Republic on Saturday, June 15, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., before traveling to New Jersey for a second leg at Red Bull Arena in Harrison on Thursday, June 20. The kickoff time at the home of the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer is set for 7 p.m. ET, with the match streamed live on ussoccer.com. The game at the New York Red Bulls' home will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network. Fans will be able to follow both games on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker and on Twitter at ussoccer_wnt. Tickets for both games go on sale to the public Friday, May 10, at 10 a.m. ET through ussoccer.com. For the match in Massachusetts, tickets can also be purchased by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout the region (including Walmart). For the event in New Jersey, tickets can also be purchased by phone at 1-877-727-6223 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET only) and at the Red Bull Arena ticket office (open MondayFriday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.). The matches against the Korea Republic mark the first domestic friendlies during the inaugural National Women's Soccer League season and the first against the South Koreans since three matches in November 2008 following the USA's Olympic gold medal triumph in Beijing, China. "Any games are extremely valuable for the continued development of the team, but games against different kinds of opponents are even better," said U.S. head coach Tom Sermanni. "We've played seven matches this year against European teams so it's nice to have the challenge of playing two matches against the South Koreans, who play a different style. South Korea has been improving steadily over the past decade and over the past couple of years they have put together a young, but highly skilled team built on the back of great success at youth World Cups. With the expansion of the Women's World Cup from 16 to 24 teams, I'm sure they have their sights firmly set on a berth to Canada." The U.S. team is 6-0-2 in 2013 and will play its next game on June 2 against Canada at BMO Field in Toronto. The match, which is sold out, is part of U.S. Soccer's Centennial Celebration which also includes a Men's National Team match against Germany at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. The MNT and WNT will play back-to-back on live television with the MNT match kicking off at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2, WatchESPN and UniMas, followed by the WNT match at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPNews. En el Apertura 2005 empataron 2-2 global y pasó Rayados por mejor ubicación en la Tabla General. En el Clausura 2003 pasó Rayados 5-3 tras el marcador global y en esa temporada ganó el título. La vuelta, este sábado 19:00 horas. AMÉRICA-PUMAS América presume al tricampeón de goleo en Christian Benítez, quien en su palmarés individual cuenta con cuatro trofeos en este rubro. Pumas es el equipo con peor record de goles anotados en el torneo con 18 tantos, incluso por detrás de varios equipos que se quedaron fuera de Liguilla. Javier Cortés fue el mejor anotador universitario con 7 tantos. En temporada regular ganó América 1-0 en la Jornada 15 en el Estadio Azteca y el único antecedente de Liguilla se dio en el Verano de 2002, en las Semifinales, cuando América venció 2-1 en el global. Santos es el mejor local con 6 victorias, un empate y dos derrotas, Atlas es el segundo mejor con las mismas estadísticas pero un gol menos anotado con 11. En Liguilla se enfrentaron en Cuartos del Verano 2002 con un global 3-3 con el pase para los Guerreros por mejor posición en la Tabla. Además en el Invierno 96 CF el global fue 4-2, también para los Guerreros. Atlas se mete a la Liguilla como el único equipo que no ha ganado un título en torneos cortos. De esta Liguilla es el duelo con mayor cantidad de antecedentes. En el Repechaje del Verano 2002 fue un 5-3 global para Morelia. En el Apertura 2009 fueron Semifinales con un global 2-1 para Cruz Azul. En 2011 se encontraron dos veces, primero en el Clausura 2011 en las Semis con global 3-2 para Morelia.
