There is something very promising about seeds.

Even if your well intentioned garden dried up and blew into your neighbor’s yard- or if in spite of the drought weeds secretly found steriods to wrestle your lovely cultivated plants into submission, perhaps on the frazzled tip of a tired stem there are seeds. Seeds to try again next year! Rescue those seeds oh’ brave gardner, lovingly shake them onto the stoutest of paper towel and roll them into a sacred gesture to the future. (store in a dry dark place and please label with the variety & year-I do forget this once in a while resulting in mystery garden- mixed with mystery weedsso... well you see the dilemma- which to nurture-which to murder. hmmmm.) If by now you haven’t noticed, I am only an existential version of Martha Stewart, full of potential wisdom, but not as clean and wondering when the help will show up... Ah, but now on to some useful chatterOpen Pollinated or heirloom, self-pollinated plants are the only varieties that will grow true from seed, meaning the seedlings will be exactly like the parents. These are the seeds worth saving.
