Site: Mosul,Iraq
During military efforts to oust ISIL from Mosul,the damage to Mosul’s cultural heritage and the surrounding areas is severe. In particular,along the Tigris River, the historic urban fabric has been severely affected, with an estimated 5,000 buildings in the Old City destroyed or severely damaged.
This project includes some of the severely damaged buildinds located in the center of the old city ,which is the most prosperous part of Mosul in the past.Now there are 3 remained historic buildinds to be restored and some new buildings in the near future to provide the community with a new space to carry out educational, social and religious activities for the revival of the entire Mosul metropolis
With special attention to urban fabric in Old City,l finally use axis to control outside space and building Meanwhile,l also consider how to incorporate newly-built buildings into exsisting historic buildings.
