Coolart roadworks shelved PROPOSED works to improve the flow of traffic at the Frankston-Flinders and Coolart roads intersection have been shelved after consultation with VicRoads. The decision came after consideration of the intersection’s low collision rate and funds available for any improvement works. Drivers turning left from Coolart Road should continue using the merge lane and not illegally cross the solid white line into westbound traffic on Frankston-Flinders Road.

THE new bridge connecting Bonbeach and Carrum has been christened with a name. Sonya Kilkenny visited the bridge on 26 October to announce the name: the Karrum Karrum Bridge. Ms Kilkenny said the name was chosen from 200 submissions because it pays respect to the Bunurong people. “By choosing the name Karrum Karrum, we are combining modern vibrant design with local Indigenous principles to enhance peoples connection to a place, to its stories and to what came before,” she said. “The revitalisation of Carrum will help boost business for local shops by attracting more people to the area and provide more ways for residents and visitors to enjoy the bayside suburb.”
