Firearms found A CHELTENHAM man was arrested last week after police allegedly found 16 firearms in his house. During a search at a Coolac Street home on 17 September, police allege that they found firearms including long arms, assault rifle gel blasters, handgun gel blasters, and home-made pen pistols. They also allegedly found knuckledusters, tasers, nun chucks, firearm silencers, flick knives, batons, and slingshots. Police also allege that a “small hydroponic set-up” was inside the house with a small amount of prescription medication and methylamphetamine. Police charged a 41-year-old man with 33 offences including possess handgun, possess imitation firearm, possess prohibited weapon, manufacture prohibited weapon, cultivate and traffick cannabis, possess drug of dependence, and deal property suspected as being proceeds of crime. He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 23 February. Police are currently working on Operation “Mint”, which targets drug crime in the Port Phillip area.

Warrant issued POLICE are looking for 24-year-old man Grant Gaut.

A warrant has been issued for Mr Gaut’s arrest. He is wanted in relation to a theft. Police describe Mr Gaut as “181cm tall, with a thin build, hazel eyes, brown hair, and a fair complexion.” Police said that he frequents the Melbourne CBD, Mordialloc, Abbottsford, and Carlton areas. Man stabbed A MAN is in a serious but stable condition after a stabbing in Frankston last week.
