Historically, Liberica locally known as Kapeng Barako flourished in Lipa City and it became a great source of income for the Lipeños. The founder, Jose H. Mercado and his family started growing their own Liberica beans which he then traded. It was his dream to serve Kapeng Barako from bean to cup; this dream and his passion for coffee led to the birth of Cafe de Lipa. As the founder is a farmer growing coffee, flourished as a coffee trader, and the dream to serve coffee–everything has come full circle.

IF YOU HAVE THE POWER TO INFLUENCE YOUR CUSTOMER’S THOUGHTS, WHAT IDEAS/VALUES WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLACE IN THEIR MINDS?

Nothing compares to natural brewed coffee for your health. Health must not come at the cost of ‘instant’ living. We enjoy tastes naturally.

Connections no matter how small are integral to anyone. Whether it be connection to one’s history, to one’s culture, to one’s community, to each other, and more, these make up who we are and who we could be.

The enjoyment of a cup of coffee is the enjoyment of pleasant sourness and pleasant bitterness.
