VINYET ARCHITECTURE

Why did you want to become an architect? I’ve always enjoyed designing and problem solving; architecture is the perfect combination of that where the result is something truly special.

Why was it important for these homeowners to work with an architect? This building site presented its own unique challenges. With it being a corner lot and having to design to specific guidelines and standards, we had to stay within those limits while providing the aesthetics the homeowner wanted. We also wanted to be mindful of creating spaces at the front of the house to appreciate the beach views.

What unique features did you incorporate into this home? The main living space really stands out. With the kitchen being open to the living room and the living room being flanked by a walk-out balcony on one side, and a screened-in-porch on another, the space feels bright and inviting. During the day you can be on the porch overlooking the pool, and in the evening on the balcony starting to watch the sunset. It’s a very enjoyable space.

How would you describe this home’s style? This home is a blend of coastal farmhouse with transitional elements.

How do you determine the design direction for each project? My approach for clients is to first decide what type of style they want created and then focus on trends that best fit and complement that style.
