o buy a house is financially constricting to begin with, but to fully landscape and develop your backyard on top of buying a house can be downright time consuming, overwhelming, and expensive. While some people suggest rolling all of these extra amenities into the mortgage, homeowner Kim Lapin was pleased that she waited to put

her full attention on the backyard after living in her house for awhile. And, she had no problems making the additions look as though they had been part of the design from the start. There to help her through the backyard transformation was Mandi Baldwin of Alaglas Pools of Charles-

ton. “We had talked to several different pool companies, and I liked Mandi and Ken,” says Kim of the husband-and-wife team at Alaglas. “I felt comfortable with them, like it was the right fit for us.” Together, Kim and Mandi chose the pool-andspa configuration, coping material, decking style, and fire-pit placement.
